During 2020 most of the world changed the way it operated and went about its daily business. Closer to home we saw the 2020 AFL Grand Final move from Melbourne, the traditional home of AFL, to Brisbane for the first time in the history of the game.
And to celebrate the Grand Final being moved to Brisbane, JLL the property managers of 1 William St, Brisbane, organised ExtremeVR to provide a branded AFL Handball challenge for all the staff working in the building.
The event kicked off at 8 am, and staff had until 2 pm that afternoon to come down to the main foyer and test their AFL handpassing skills against the game, and against other players.
Each player had exactly 2 minutes to correctly hand pass as many balls to both stationary, and moving computer-generated team members.
At the end of each game, players were given a score, with the top ten scores displayed on the game leaderboard.
Then at the end of the day, a playoff was held between the top three players.
Both during the playoffs, and during the day, there was plenty of laughs, and more than one person claiming they deserved another go because they were distracted by another player, or this was their first time playing AFL.
Overall it was a great day, staff got to meet each other and get away from their computer screens for 15 mins for a bit of friendly competition.
